“High School Musical 3” – Disney’s phenomenally successful “High School Musical” franchise, starring Zac Efron, will graduate to the big screen in 2008 with “High School Musical 3,” aka “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” an all-new musical adventure. The original High School Musical, an Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel Original Movie that premiered in 2006, went on to reach over 100 million unique viewers worldwide. In the U.S., the movie’s soundtrack was the #1 album of the year in 2006 (certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA) and is a top-seller in international territories. Additionally, nearly 10 million DVD units have been sold to date around the world.

Rich Ross, president, Disney Channel Worldwide, added, “When people think ‘big screen’ for a TV movie, they generally don’t think this big – but no plasma TV could contain our plans for ‘High School Musical 3’ thanks to the Walt Disney Studios.”

Gary Marsh, president, entertainment, Disney Channel Worldwide, commented, “‘High School Musical 3′ exploded off the TV screen and into the lives of kids and families everywhere. It skyrocketed to heights never before achieved by a TV movie, so it’s only fitting that its next incarnation should be as a major motion picture. Now, millions of kids and families can ‘get their heads in the game’ one more time — and continue to experience this cultural phenomenon, [“High School Musical 3”].”

Internationally, “High School Musical” has aired on Disney Channels (26 worldwide) and free-to-air broadcasters, reaching over 100 countries. For the September 2006 premiere in India, the music was re-recorded in Hindi with Indian instrumentation and more rhythmic beats to achieve a “Bollywood” sound.

Adding to its success, “High School Musical” has spawned a #1 New York Times bestseller – “High School Musical – The Novel,” which has sold over 1.2 million copies. “High School Musical” was also the first TV movie to be offered on the iTunes Music Store. “High School Musical” themed shows have also proven to be popular at the Disney Theme Parks and Resorts, including Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, and an upcoming production at Disneyland Paris.

Zac Efron star of the first two “High School Musical” movies, leads the cast in the first big screen version of the film series. (Zac Efron also stars in “17,” which hits theaters sometime in 2008. Zac Efron also stars in the upcoming remake of “Footloose”).

“Terminator Salvation Trailer”
In Theaters May 22, 2009

Terminator_Salvation_Poster

Warner Bros. is reinventing the “Terminator” cyborg saga with a storyline to be told over a three-picture span. “Terminator Salvation” is the first in a new trilogy of the “Terminator Movie” franchise. And as he helped resurrect the “Batman” movie franchise, Christian Bale (“The Dark Knight”) stars in “Terminator Salvation,” while McG directs “Terminator 4.” Arnold Schwarzenegger is not reprising his role as “The Terminator” in “T4” and will NOT make a cameo appearance in “Terminator 4.”

The latest installment of The Terminator film franchise, set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

In “T4,” McG’s take is to weave science fiction and horror elements into a state-of-the-art action film: “The camera always moves, the imagery is raw and kinetic, the pace is insane. The creative challenge for me will be to bury the effects into the photography but to still protect our big visual moments,” he says.

The “Terminator Salvation Trailer” premiered July 16, 2008.

“Madagascar 2” – In “Madagascar 2: The Crate Escape,” all the loveable characters are back — Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo, King Julien, Maurice and the penguins. Left marooned on the distant shores of Madagascar, the New Yorkers have hatched a plan so crazy it just might work. With military precision, the penguins have repaired an old crashed plane – sort of. Once aloft, this unlikely crew stays airborne just long enough to make it to the wildest place of all – the vast plains of Africa itself — where our zoo-raised crew encounters species of their own kind for the very first time. While discovering their roots, they quickly realize the differences between the concrete jungle and the heart of Africa. Despite long-lost relatives, romantic rivals and scheming hunters, Africa seems like a “crack-a-lackin” great place…but is it better than their Central Park home? And, as you know, especially if you sat through the first “Madagascar” with your kids, Alex is voiced by Ben Stiller.

The original “Madagascar” was released in theaters in 2005.
